Our Grand Rapids, Michigan facility is seeking a diligent Material Handler to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling of materials throughout our warehouse. This includes receiving, storing, and preparing materials for shipment. You will operate equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts, ensuring that all movements are executed with precision and care. A key aspect of this job is maintaining an organized inventory system and contributing to the overall efficiency of our supply chain. We are deeply committed to Safety; therefore, adherence to all safety guidelines and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory. This role requires individuals who are physically capable of performing significant Lifting and possess a strong work ethic. Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming inventory.
- Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
- Transport materials to and from storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts.
- Organize warehouse space to optimize efficiency and accessibility.
- Ensure all materials are handled in accordance with Safety regulations.
- Properly use and maintain required PPE.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or equipment malfunctions.
- Contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a material handling or warehouse role.
- Certification or experience operating forklifts is preferred.
- Ability to perform frequent Lifting of materials up to 50 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse Safety procedures and best practices.
- Commitment to wearing all required PPE.
- Basic knowledge of logistics and inventory management.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
