We are seeking experienced and certified Forklift Operators to manage the movement of goods within our distribution facility. This role is fundamental to our operations, ensuring that materials are transported efficiently, safely, and accurately from receiving to storage and onto shipping docks. You will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts, including counterbalance and reach trucks, to load, unload, move, stack, and sort items. A strong commitment to safety is paramount, and you must be knowledgeable about all OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Daily equipment inspections, proper maintenance, and the consistent use of required PPE are non-negotiable aspects of this job. While your primary function is forklift operation, you may be required to assist with lifting tasks when necessary, so physical stamina is important. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload pallets and other materials from trucks and into racks.
- Stack and unstack pallets and materials.
- Perform pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any issues.
- Maintain inventory accuracy by correctly placing and retrieving items.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and regulations, including the use of PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, including manual lifting.
- Keep the work area clean and orderly.
- Participate in inventory counts and audits.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the logistics department.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA-approved).
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and the use of PPE.
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of logistics and inventory management principles.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Physical fitness to perform the demands of the job.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
