We are seeking a skilled and experienced Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team in Des Moines, Iowa. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to move, stack, load, and unload materials within our distribution center. This role is crucial to our daily logistics operations, ensuring timely and accurate inventory management and order fulfillment. You will work closely with other warehouse personnel to maintain an organized and productive work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move palletized freight and other materials.
- Load and unload trucks, containers, and trailers with precision and care.
- Stack and retrieve inventory from racking systems, ensuring stability and safety.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of forklifts to ensure they are in good working condition, reporting any issues immediately.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, free from obstructions and hazards.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet daily operational goals.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned, which may involve manual lifting.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator with a valid certification.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to established protocols.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills.
