What You’ll Do
The Material Handler supports packaging operations by ensuring the timely, accurate, and compliant movement, staging, and reconciliation of materials required for production activities. This role is critical to maintaining efficient material flow to and from packaging lines while ensuring adherence to cGMP requirements, inventory controls, and Good Documentation Practices. The Material Handler works cross-functionally with Packaging, Warehouse, and Quality teams to support uninterrupted production and maintain product quality and traceability.
Key Responsibilities:
• Stage, transport, and supply packaging materials and components to designated packaging lines based on production schedules.
• Verify material identity, quantities, and status using labels, batch records, and inventory systems prior to issuance.
• Perform material issuance and reconciliation activities, ensuring accurate tracking of quantities issued, used, and returned.
• Remove finished goods, rejected materials, and unused components from packaging areas and return them to appropriate storage locations.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation in accordance with cGMP and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
• Inspect materials and components for damage, discrepancies, or labeling issues and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Support line clearance activities by ensuring proper removal, segregation, and accountability of materials between batches.
• Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment safely and in compliance with company procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and order in packaging and staging areas.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve material-related issues and support operational efficiency.
What We’re Looking For
Experience:
• 0–3 years of experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or packaging environment preferred.
• Experience in a pharmaceutical or other cGMP-regulated environment preferred.
• Familiarity with material handling, inventory control, or packaging support activities preferred.
Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
Skills & Knowledge:
• Ability to read and follow written procedures, batch documentation, and work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in material verification and documentation.
• Basic understanding of inventory control and material handling practices.
• Ability to work in a structured, process-driven, and regulated environment.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
• Ability to safely operate material handling equipment.
• Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire.
