Warehouse Supervisor / Shipper Receiver

Job Description

We are seeking a Warehouse Supervisor / Shipper Receiver to become an integral part of our team! You will help coordinate incoming and outgoing shipment activities while overseeing 1 - 2 Material Handlers.

Responsibilities:

• This is a hands-on role with physical work duties
• Ship and receive merchandise or material
• Manage inventory using ERP system
• Respond via email to sales and stock inquiries with sales and service teams
• Unpack, verify, and record incoming merchandise or material
• Arrange appropriate transportation of products with selected carriers including preparation of shipping documents
• Assist customers with shipping inquiries
• Perform other administrative duties as assigned
• Operate forklift, reach truck and pallet jacks
• Maintain warehouse facility, kitchen, office and showroom in a clean and orderly manner
• Assign/oversee daily work duties, attendance, punctuality for 1-2 material handlers and ensure safe workplace practices with team members and self at all times
• Apply vinyl graphics to coolers and freezers as per sales orders
• Prepare merchandise according to sales order including light assembly, pick and pack

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years previous experience in shipping, logistics, or other related fields
• 3 years previous leadership experience preferred
• Proven ability to work independently without supervision
• Sales skills considered an asset
• Team player with ability to lead coach and mentor team members
• Keen focus on responsive and communicative customer service required
• Must be computer literate (MS Office 365, ERP systems)
• Experience with Infor Visual ERP considered an asset
• Ability to handle physical workload & lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to multitask and prioritize
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills
• Forklift Operator certification considered an asset
• Experience as participant on Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) considered an asset
• Must be able to reliably commute to Hammond, LA warehouse

Hammond, LA will be the first of 3 US based distribution centers and will manage all distribution for the southern US. Included in this plan is a small showroom and a desire to market our products directly to the public in the Greater New Orleans area.
