We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic warehouse team in Kansas City, Missouri. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory through rigorous tracking, auditing, and cycle counting processes. Your efforts will directly impact our ability to fulfill orders efficiently and maintain optimal stock levels.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
- Maintain organized and clean warehouse storage areas, ensuring proper placement and identification of all items.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate potential shortages or overages to management.
- Assist with receiving and put-away processes as needed, ensuring accurate data entry.
- Implement and adhere to all warehouse safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to all safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as logistics and operations, to improve inventory management processes.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on best practices in inventory control and warehouse management.
- The ability to perform consistent Lifting of up to 50 lbs is often required.
- This role is crucial for the smooth operation of our logistics chain.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a similar warehouse role.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and basic computer skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Must be comfortable with regular lifting and physical demands of the role.
