Shipping Coordinator

Job Description

Hours are flexible 6-2:30 or 7-3:30 or 8-4:30.

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Coordinator to oversee outbound shipment operations in a warehouse environment. This role is responsible for coordinating palletization, labeling, staging, documentation, and carrier scheduling to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment. The Shipping Coordinator does not physically load trucks but leads the organization and execution of all shipping activities from order release through freight pickup and tracking.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate outbound shipments to ensure orders are accurately prepared and shipped on schedule
• Lead the organization of palletizing, labeling, and staging items according to order requirements
• Develop and execute load plans to maximize truck capacity and shipment efficiency
• Process shipping orders within company systems with high attention to detail
• Create and maintain master packing lists and Bills of Lading (BOLs)
• Schedule and manage shipments via parcel carriers (e.g., FedEx), LTL freight, and full truckload carriers
• Track shipments and provide status updates internally and to customers as needed
• Verify shipment accuracy, documentation completeness, and compliance with shipping standards
• Coordinate with warehouse, customer service, and logistics partners to resolve shipping issues
• Maintain organized shipping records and ensure data accuracy in all systems

Required Qualifications

• Previous shipping coordination experience in a warehouse or distribution environment
• Strong understanding of palletizing, labeling, staging, and load planning processes
• Experience scheduling FedEx shipments, LTL freight, and full truckload carriers
• Proficiency in data entry and use of shipping or warehouse management systems
• Experience preparing packing lists and Bills of Lading
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously
• Clear communication skills and ability to coordinate across teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with inventory or warehouse management systems (WMS)
• Knowledge of freight terms, carrier requirements, and shipping documentation standards
• Experience tracking freight and resolving delivery exceptions

Work Environment

• Warehouse environment with regular interaction across operations teams
• Primarily coordination and administrative responsibilities rather than physical loading
