Clear Staff is helping a client in the Schaumburg area for a Material Handler for 1st & 2nd shift.

2nd shift 3:00PM to 11:00PM

3rd shift 11:00PM tp 7:00AM

Payrate $21.00 to $22.50

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Material Handler to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement, storage, and organization of materials within the warehouse environment. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation, materials handling, and warehouse management systems will ensure smooth shipping, receiving, and inventory processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with various warehouse equipment, and a commitment to safety standards. Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to load and unload materials.
• Perform order picking using RF scanners and pickers to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Load and unload shipments utilizing appropriate equipment while adhering to OSHA safety regulations.
• Manage shipping and receiving processes by inspecting incoming goods, verifying documentation, and organizing outgoing shipments.
• Handle materials with care, ensuring proper storage, stacking, and inventory control within the warehouse.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory movements using warehouse management systems.
• Assist with heavy lifting tasks and mechanical repairs as needed to support warehouse operations.
• Support warehouse supervisors in maintaining a safe working environment by following OSHA guidelines.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize space utilization and improve workflow efficiency.

Experience

• Proven experience in warehouse distribution or logistics environments.
• Hands-on experience operating forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and other heavy equipment.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for order picking and inventory control.
• Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures, including loading/unloading techniques.
• Prior experience in construction or industrial settings is advantageous.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with understanding of heavy equipment operation.
• Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
• Previous supervisory experience in a warehouse setting is a plus.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to materials handling and heavy equipment use.
