Job Overview

Troy Humphrey Moving & Storage is seeking motivated and hardworking individuals to join our team as Movers, Packers, and Warehouse Associates at our service center in Jacksonville.

For more than 45 years , our family-owned company has provided professional moving, packing, and storage services to customers throughout eastern North Carolina and beyond. We specialize in local and long-distance residential moves, military relocations, and secure storage solutions.

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy physical work, teamwork, and a job that changes daily. Employees work directly with customers to ensure safe and efficient transportation of household goods while maintaining the high level of service our company is known for.

Compensation for this position starts at $16-$20 per hour , depending on experience.

Essential Functions & Duties

• Wrap and protect household goods and furniture for safe transportation

• Perform residential and commercial packing and unpacking services

• Safely lift, carry, and move furniture, boxes, and household items between residences and moving vehicles

• Assist drivers with loading and unloading trucks or storage containers

• Conduct pre-trip equipment inspections with drivers (straps, pads, dollies, truck interiors, etc.)

• Complete and verify inventory documentation for household goods shipments

• Handle specialty items such as antiques, large furniture, and other sensitive belongings

• Assist with warehouse operations , including organization and storage of customer shipments

• Maintain a clean, professional work environment and provide excellent customer service

• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or drivers

• Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physical labor

• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures

• Dependable and punctual with a positive attitude

• Willingness to travel locally and occasionally within the state for job assignments

Required Education & Experience

Required

• High School Diploma or GED (or currently working toward completion)

Preferred

• Valid Driver’s License or Real ID compliant identification

• Previous experience in moving, warehousing, or manual labor

Working Conditions

• Work performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

• Frequent lifting and carrying of objects up to 50 pounds or more

• Frequent bending, squatting, and climbing stairs

• Active, hands-on work environment
