JOB TITLE: Warehouse & Forklift Driver
DEPARTMENT: Warehouse
FLSA: hourly-paid, non-exempt
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager

Pay Rate $21.00
OBJECTIVE: Responsible for assembling pre-fabricated crate components into completed shipping crates according to product specifications and safe operation of forklifts to move paper products and finished goods to and from shipping containers, truck trailers, warehouse storage areas and/or loading docks.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for assembling pre-fabricated crate components according to work orders, assembly instructions, and product specifications to ensure proper fit and structural integrity.
- Secure crate panels, bases, lids, and internal supports using approved fastening methods (nail gun, screws, brackets, or hardware) to ensure crates are stable and safe for shipment.
- Verify crate dimensions and configuration match product requirements prior to final closure. Inspect completed crates to ensure alignment, secure fastening, and overall structural stability.
- Operate hand tools and power fastening equipment safely and in accordance with company safety procedures. Immediately report unsafe conditions, defective materials, or equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
- Maintain clean and organized work area. Stage materials appropriately to support efficient workflow and minimize material waste.
- Assist with staging completed crates for loading and shipment. Apply required labels or shipping markings as directed.
- Responsible for the safe operation of a forklift to move paper products and finished goods to and from shipping containers, truck trailers, warehouse storage areas and/or loading docks.
- Complete pre-operation daily inspection of forklift, to ensure it is safe and serviceable to drive. Document inspection on required forms. Immediately report unsafe conditions or potential problems to supervisor.
- Report hazards, defective materials and equipment problems to management
- Accurately complete required paperwork, including but not limited to: packing lists, Bills of Lading and inventory count sheets.
- Exchange propane tank
- Build delivery orders going out for next day deliveries
- Track and monitor inventory
- Monitor open orders, tracking inbound product, preparing for deliveries
- Replenish shelves/racking with material
- Maintain the forklift, work area, warehouse and equipment in a clean, orderly condition, free from hazards
- Follow all safety rules
- Requires the ability to sit to drive a forklift including backwards and stand and walk for a minimum 8-hour shift, work overtime, swing or night shift and weekends
- Requires the ability to constantly lift, carry, push and pull 30 pounds
- Reliable attendance required. At work during normal business hours
Other Duties
- Schedule drayage for inbound loads from pier
- Conduct month-end inventory reconciliation
- Assist with projects including, but not limited to: general maintenance and safety
- Cross-train to fulfill any warehouse duties
- Occasionally may be required to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds
- At all times behave in a courteous and professional manner
- All duties as assigned
Reporting Relationship
- Reports to the Operations Manager
- Works directly with the entire team
- Interacts with Customer Service, Operations and Shipping & Receiving
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and follow written work instructions, assembly diagrams, and basic measurements.
- Basic math skills, including the ability to measure and verify dimensions accurately.
- Ability to safely lift and move materials up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive assembly tasks.
- Ability to work in a warehouse or distribution environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to follow all company safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Experience in warehouse work
- Experience operating a forklift
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of either paper or packaging goods
- Experience with inventory control and warehouse organization
- Forklift certification
- Prior experience with inventory or ERP software
- Experience assembling pre-fabricated kits or modular components.
- Familiarity with safe operation of nail guns, drills, and other fastening equipment.
Physical Environment/Working Conditions
This position is in the warehouse, where temperature fluctuations occur throughout the year and where employees must be cautious around vehicles, equipment and forklifts.
