Shipping Coordinator

Taunton, MA
Pay: $22 to $23 per hour

Position Summary:

The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for overseeing daily shipping operations, ensuring accurate and timely shipment of finished goods. This role coordinates with warehouse, production, and carriers to maintain efficient logistics while meeting company and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities of the Shipping Coordinator

• Coordinate and schedule outgoing shipments with carriers and transportation providers
• Prepare and verify shipping documentation (BOLs, packing slips, invoices)
• Ensure orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately and on time
• Communicate with production and warehouse teams to prioritize shipments
• Track shipments and provide updates on delivery status
• Resolve shipping discrepancies, delays, or damages
• Maintain inventory accuracy and assist with cycle counts as needed
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and shipping regulations
• Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, and shipping software to manage orders and shipments
• Work with transportation systems and carrier portals to schedule, track, and optimize deliveries
• Support continuous improvement efforts in shipping and logistics processes

Qualifications of the Shipping Coordinator

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred
• 2+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse coordination
• Hands-on experience with transportation systems, carrier platforms, and warehouse management systems (WMS/ERP)
• Experience in a manufacturing or food production environment preferred
• Knowledge of shipping documentation and freight coordination
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, WMS/ERP systems)
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the shift
• Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs as needed
• Comfortable working in a warehouse or production environment

Schedule:

• Must be flexible to work various shifts, including overtime and weekends as needed
