Candidate will be required to travel to various Field Offices during work hours. A Valid SC Driver's License is REQUIRED for this position. A state vehicle will be provided for travel. Potential Travel during Business Hours to Field Offices in addition to daily commute to HQ in Blythewood. Resource will be utilizing a state vehicle for any work-related travel. The State of South Carolina is looking for a Network Engineer - Consultant Why is this position open: New Position. Client is looking for a skilled Network Administrator Consultant who will act as a point of reference for the Network Operations Center team on technical issues. Interview Process: Two Rounds. Candidate needs to be prepared to go onsite for one or both interviews. DAILY DUTIES: Daily duties include managing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting a statewide network infrastructure built upon a foundation of various solutions, such as Cisco/Meraki, Palo Alto, Fortinet/FortiGate, Certes, and Citrix NetScaler, and Trellix technologies. The Sr. Network Engineer will be proactive in their approach to monitor network performance, ensure efficient communication across the network, review and improve security compliance through cybersecurity best practices, and implement updates or changes to maintain optimal connectivity and secure version compliance. Candidate will be part of a multi-team environment and must have the ability to work as part of those teams and must have the ability to support multiple tasks at the same time, in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The candidate will work closely with technical teams and should be able to provide knowledge transfer and informal training to peers where appropriate. RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform the configuration, installation, maintenance, and upgrade of networking products. Troubleshoot network failures and identify network problems. Network analysis, design, installation, configuration, and support. Maintain network diagrams and other network documentation. Provide configuration, troubleshooting and problem resolution support. Troubleshoot and remediate issues in a complex, voice-integrated infrastructure.
