The Commodity Buyer is responsible for the operational execution of the defined commodity strategy. The role ensures timely availability of materials and services at optimal conditions and works closely with the Strategic Commodity Manager.


  • Execute the defined commodity and sourcing strategy on an operational level
  • Handle day-to-day purchasing activities including scheduling and escalation management
  • Request, analyze and compare supplier quotations
  • Create RFQs and tender documents in close cooperation with Product Management, including the coordination and clarification of technical and commercial specifications
  • Prepare and conduct price and condition negotiations within defined limits
  • Maintain and develop existing supplier relationships
  • Support identification, evaluation and qualification of new suppliers
  • Monitor delivery performance, quality and cost development
  • Contribute to cost reduction and TCO optimization initiatives

  • Completed commercial or technical education or relevant university degree
  • Experience in procurement
  • Initial experience in supplier negotiations and supplier management
  • Basic understanding of cost structures and TCO concepts
  • Very good English skills, written and spoken
  • Confident handling of MS Office and ERP systems
  • Structured, reliable and solution-oriented working style
