We are looking for a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our growing logistics operations in New York City, New York. This role is vital to ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods out of our warehouse. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing outgoing shipments, managing shipping documentation, and coordinating with carriers to ensure timely deliveries. You will play a key part in maintaining our reputation for reliability and customer service within the competitive New York market. Your contribution will directly impact the success of our supply chain and overall business operations. We emphasize a culture of safety and efficiency in all our logistics processes.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Generate shipping labels and complete necessary documentation, including bills of lading.
- Verify shipment contents against orders to ensure accuracy.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS, freight).
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant parties as needed.
- Maintain organized shipping records and files.
- Operate shipping software and equipment.
- Ensure all packages are properly packed and labeled according to carrier regulations and company standards.
- Comply with all safety regulations and use required PPE.
- Be able to perform tasks involving moderate Lifting of packages.
- Assist in maintaining an organized and clean shipping area to support overall logistics efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role.
- Proficiency in shipping software and basic computer skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations and carrier requirements.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and adherence to protocols.
- Familiarity with various types of PPE.
- Comfortable with tasks that may require Lifting up to 30 lbs.
