What you’ll doThe role involves developing and articulating a compelling vision for AZ HK that aligns with the broader business strategy to achieve both short-term performance and long-term success, while ensuring functional excellence. It requires building a high-performance senior leadership team by attracting and retaining top talent through effective development and recognition strategies, thereby securing a strong talent pipeline. Additionally, the position entails fostering and maintaining robust relationships with government officials, organizations, and industry peers to enhance the company's image and drive business objectives.
- Drive revenue and operating profit while aligning employee engagement with AstraZeneca HK's long-term vision.
- Define and execute a competitive long-term strategy based on market trends, ensuring sales and contribution targets are met.
- Identify and develop commercial opportunities for sustainable growth and effective resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with AZ and statutory governance requirements, establishing accountability structures.
- Foster teamwork and cross-functional collaboration to achieve organizational goals.
- Implement succession planning and talent development while optimizing employee performance and engagement.
- Innovate and adapt strategies to meet challenges, build relationships with industry and government, and influence policy decisions.
- University degree in medical science, pharmacy, life sciences, or related discipline
- High ethical standards and integrity
- Minimum 10 years’ leadership experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
- Proven track record delivering business results
- Strong knowledge of pharma compliance in a regulated environment
- Ability to lead in a matrix/global organization; strong governance and escalation handling
- Demonstrated capability to manage cross-functional initiatives and change/transformation
- Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical regulatory environment and compliance requirements in Hong Kong and Macau
