The Role: Package Engineer - Concrete

As a Package Engineer, you will report directly to the Project Manager and take charge of managing trade-contractor packages within our infrastructure and substructure team. You will lead a dedicated team of engineers and subcontractors to ensure the project is delivered with the utmost standards of safety and performance.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Ownership: Take full responsibility for your package, ensuring all works are planned, safe, and that the site is clean and organized.
  • Safety Leadership: Promote a culture of safety by being present on-site and ensuring all works are executed safely.
  • Logistical Planning: Oversee all logistical requirements, coordinating with the Works Manager and Logistics Contractor.
  • Program Development: Create short-term programs and phase plans to accelerate works and mitigate issues for on-time delivery.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track progress and performance metrics, reporting any implications to the Project Manager.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the infrastructure team, always keeping the ‘big picture’ in mind.
  • Technical Compliance: Ensure all technical aspects meet contract documents and specifications.
  • Quality Assurance: Review and approve Inspection and Test Plans, conducting quality inspections using FieldView.
  • Documentation: Manage technical submittals and record key events and activities.
  • Culture Promotion: Encourage and promote the SRM Build Sure culture.
Your Profile:
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership capabilities with experience in multi-million-pound building projects.
  • Package Management: Proven track record managing structural steelwork and façade packages.
  • Subcontractor Management: Experience overseeing subcontractors for timely delivery and adherence to contracts.
  • Progress Reporting: Skilled in leading weekly progress meetings and implementing corrective actions.
  • Procurement Expertise: Experience in negotiating with suppliers for competitive pricing without compromising quality.
  • Technical Collaboration: Ability to work closely with design and engineering teams to resolve challenges.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Knowledge of health and safety regulations in construction.
  • Contract Management: Familiarity with NEC contracts and managing Early Warning Notices.
  • Construction Knowledge: Good understanding of building products, regulations, and quality standards.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with construction software such as FieldView, 4P, Dalux, and Asta is desirable.
