Planning Manager

Over the next 3 to 4 years, we will be undertaking heavy construction and civil engineering works across various industrial fronts, starting with enabling works in Q3 2025.

If you are an experienced Works Supervisor with a background in large multi-million-pound projects, we want you on our team! This is a chance to work on a complex and technically challenging project valued at over £200 million , all under the NEC form of contract.

We are looking for a highly skilled Planning Manager to lead our planning and project controls function for this landmark project worth over £1 billion . Your role will be crucial in ensuring that our planning aligns with key project decisions and business objectives.

• Lead the planning function across primary project areas.
• Identify planning strategies, methods, and logistics for the project lifecycle.
• Create detailed programs with robust breakdown structures and clear logic.
• Define work intentions with precision and clarity.
• Develop phasing diagrams, logistics plans, and resource schedules.
• Establish certainty in progress tracking to inform future actions.
• Enhance predictability with robust project controls and early warnings.
• Utilize data to support decision-making and minimize project risks.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, project teams, and supply chain partners.
• Consider commercial and contractual implications in planning.
• Foster collaboration across project teams.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Experience managing planning on complex projects.
• Strong understanding of the NEC form of contract.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Solid grasp of construction methods and planning from first principles.
• Proficient in Powerproject planning software.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience in the industrial sector is highly advantageous.
• Ability to lead and mentor planning team members.
• Familiarity with 4D planning and digital planning technologies.
• Experience with Construction Management (CM) projects.

Additional Attributes:
