Advisory Teacher

Location: Ashurst, Hampshire

Contract: Term time only

Hours: 3 days per week (21 hours)

Salary: £36,000 pro rata

Our Integrated Services Programme (ISP) surrounds children with a comprehensive range of support services, including social workers, fostering advisors, teachers, and therapists. Together, we create a therapeutic approach to fostering that truly makes a difference.

As an Advisory Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting the education of children across the South region. You will provide guidance and support to foster carers, schools, and a network of professionals dedicated to the well-being of ISP children.

• Advise on educational provisions for children within the centre.
• Monitor the educational progress of all children associated with the centre.
• Support centre staff on educational matters.
• Assist in developing education support policies and procedures.
• Attend multi-disciplinary team meetings to advise on childcare and personal education plans.
• Liaise with professionals to ensure each child's educational needs are met.
• Work in partnership with children, young people, foster parents, and professionals to support assessment and planning processes.
• Offer advice to schools as needed.
• Maintain accurate and effective education case records.
• Build relationships with schools, virtual schools, and local authority professionals.

• Qualified Teacher Status.
• Relevant classroom experience.
• Flexibility and creativity in supporting children's education.
• Ability to make effective decisions in complex educational situations.
• Understanding of the educational needs and entitlements for children and young people.
• Experience working with looked-after children is advantageous.
