Our local teams of social workers are always close by, providing consistent support, regular groups, and welcoming family events that foster a strong community. Our Glasgow office is rated 'Very Good' by the Care Inspectorate, reflecting our commitment to high standards of care.

Your Role

As a Supervising Social Worker, you will:

  • Support foster carers and their families to achieve outstanding outcomes for children and young people in foster care.
  • Monitor the suitability and competence of foster carers, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Provide regular supervision to allocated foster carers in line with Fosterplus' Operational Standards.
  • Work collaboratively to identify needs within foster families, contributing to relevant meetings and tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with all key documentation for each child and foster carer.
  • Attend meetings and provide reports for commissioning teams regarding individual care packages.
  • Promote the participation of children and young people in agency development and community resources.
  • Participate in an 'out of hours' support service on a rota basis.
  • Conduct occasional initial home visits and Form F Assessments.
What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you must have:

  • A Social Work qualification and professional registration with SSSC or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality reports.
  • A comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures.
  • The willingness and ability to travel extensively.
  • A full driving licence and unrestricted access to your own vehicle.
