Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide advanced nursing care in an acute inpatient Progressive Care Unit (PCU), specializing in cardiac and complex medical conditions. This contract position calls for a skilled RN-Stepdown professional with at least one year of clinical experience, including in the specialty. Flexible floating within appropriate units as part of the Resource Float team will be expected. Location Overview: Based in Keeseville, NY, this role offers an opportunity to work in a well-equipped 341-bed hospital with a dedicated 3:1 nurse-patient ratio on the PCU. The unit emphasizes high-quality cardiac care and advanced monitoring, providing a dynamic clinical environment. Key Responsibilities: Deliver patient care to adult populations with diagnoses such as Acute Coronary Syndrome, heart failure, post-PTCA/stent management, and drug toxicity requiring frequent observation Manage complex infusions including insulin drips, inotropic, vasodilator, and antiarrhythmic drips Perform clinical procedures including starting IVs, venipuncture, EKGs, and post-cardiac catheterization care Collaborate with telemetry technicians and ancillary staff to optimize patient monitoring and safety Adhere strictly to unit protocols, including ACLS and telemetry monitoring Float as required to related units within the facility Preferred Experience & Qualifications: Current RN license with a minimum of 1 year of clinical and specialty experience in stepdown nursing BLS and ACLS certifications required; additional certifications are a plus Experience with telemetry and cardiac patient care in an acute setting Familiarity with EPIC documentation and MAK medication systems Ability to maintain professional appearance including designated scrubs and grooming standards Schedule & Work Environment: 12-hour shifts: 7 AM to 7 PM, scheduling posted in advance Weekend coverage typically every other weekend; holiday shifts as needed No call requirements Orientation: 1-2 days Additional Information: Nurses will be part of a Resource Float team ensuring support across units Telemetry and advanced monitoring equipment fully supported on unit Respiratory and anesthesia teams available 24/7 This contract opportunity offers a challenging and rewarding setting to refine and apply your progressive care nursing skills.
