We are hiring an: Lead
Sales Engineer
Texas (Remote)
The
Lead Sales Engineer
is responsible for the advanced skills of sales positioning, product instruction and customer application solving techniques. They are known subject matter experts in the applications of thermal products with a strategic focus on attraction and retention of accounts within assigned coverage areas.
This role is responsible for revenue growth, bookings attainment, and strategic customer development in the
Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, and BPCP markets .
What You'll Do:
Revenue & Growth Impact:
Own and exceed revenue, bookings, and territory targets by identifying, advancing, and closing complex opportunities within your assigned accounts.
Trusted Technical Advisor:
Serve as a subject matter expert in products, applications, and thermal systems, guiding customers to the right solutions and influencing technical and commercial decisions.
Strategic Account Leadership:
Build and execute account strategies, manage a portfolio of key and core customers, and develop strong executive-level relationships to drive long-term growth.
Complex Deal & Opportunity Management:
Lead complex system opportunities from discovery through proposal, negotiation, and close using structured opportunity, lead, and CRM processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner closely with internal teams (sales, engineering, factory, business units) to deliver solutions, resolve customer issues, and maximize value for customers and Watlow.
Process & Continuous Improvement:
Lead process improvement, apply sound business judgment, interpret policy, manage expenses, and continuously look for better ways to operate and serve customers.
Leadership & Talent Development:
Mentor and coach sales teammates and support staff, foster collaboration and consensus, and actively develop talent for future growth.
Business & Market Insight:
Understand industry trends, competitive dynamics, and new technologies - and translate that insight into actionable plans that drive customer value and business results.
What youll need to succeed?
Bachelor's degree in a related field
and 8+ years of relevant experience
(or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Proven experience in
technical or complex solution sales , ideally in an industrial, manufacturing, or technical environment
Demonstrated ability to
achieve or exceed revenue and bookings targets
Experience managing
complex opportunities, proposals, and negotiations
involving multiple stakeholders.
Strong
business, financial, and operational acumen
with the ability to make sound, data-driven decisions
Ability to build and manage
senior-level customer and internal relationships
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in thermal systems, heating technologies, or industrial automation (or similar technical domains)
Formal project management experience (leading scope, timelines, budgets, and cross-functional delivery)
Leadership training or formal people development / coaching experience
Experience mentoring or coaching others in technical or complex selling environments
Familiarity with CRM systems, opportunity management, and structured sales processes (e.g., lead management, conversion/retention frameworks)
Exposure to integrating new technologies or digital tools into sales or business processes
