Position Summary
Successful candidates will be a well-rounded IT Network/Operations Engineer who demonstrate
the ability to swiftly dive deep into new and existing technologies as necessary and who possess
an in-depth understanding and facility with a variety of server technologies, network architectures,
cyber security best practices, virtualization platforms, systems optimization skills, and IT best
practices.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Provide design and operational guidance for Windows servers (Exchange Servers, SQL Server) supporting production, development, QA and business continuance environments. Responsible for production level usage of VMware - design, implementation and maintenance. Troubleshoots, rebuilds, recovers and tunes servers, desktops, laptops and virtual servers as well as any other support equipment. Must be familiar with general RMA processes. Support, manage and monitor systems, networks and software applications for the purpose of ensuring efficient and continuous operations Advises management by identifying critical security and system issues; recommending risk-reduction solutions. Responsible for providing timely Tier 2 support for all HCATS users (staff and external) with excellent customer service for matters originating in desktop support ticketing system. Serve as a back-up to Technical Support Analysts in preparing (imaging) new desktops and laptops for HCATS staff. Support continuity of operations as a part of a 24x7 on-call rotation. Work in conjunction with other IT Operations team members Assist in budgeting and planning for upgrades, migrations and other systems and network projects. Create and maintain documentation for all supported technology platforms and applications Implement network capabilities that support enterprise disaster recovery processes and business continuity plan Must work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels of the global organization. Must maintain company quality and quantity standards. Strong understanding of timelines, milestones, and deliverable due dates Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills to deal with users of varying levels of technology expertise Organizational skills to prioritize work and track the status of multiple activities Demonstrated experience in working effectively with clients, management, external application and data providers Must be proactive in taking ownership for tasks and managing them through completion with little direction, with knowing when to ask for help and escalating issues Adapts to on-going change and works in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment Competencies
At least 5-10 years full time professional experience supporting the following: network, server, storage, IT security or telephony Strong grasp of Microsoft Active Directory administration Familiarity to working knowledge of Cisco iOS, SonicWall, Cisco ASA, network troubleshooting tools like Wire Shark and Putty, strong grasp of TCP/IP concepts, VLANs, Wireless Networking technologies and security, VPN, Identity Access Management, VOIP concepts Strong grasp of Windows Server 2008R2 Standard - Windows 2019 Datacenter, VMWare vCenter, EMC, HP/Dell server technologies, or other forms of Hyperconverged environments and understanding of Hypervisors Understanding of NAS configurations Expert grasp of supporting Windows 7-10, Mac OS, Android and iOS, PC and Mac hardware troubleshooting Understanding of virtual and bare metal backup as well as High Availability solutions Experience with endpoint, MDM & MAM packaged solutions such as Microsoft InTune, others Strong ability to troubleshoot Microsoft Office 365, Exchange Online email deliverability issues, anti-spam solutions Ability to maintain DNS records, MX records, TXT records, Domain Registrar duties Experience with end-point management solutions such as Kaseya, WSUS, Microsoft SCCM Knowledge of and preferred support of SSO and Password Management Applications as well as MFA concepts and FIDO Experience supporting conferencing and video conferencing solutions (primarily) Zoom, Cisco WebEx, MS Teams Ability to support and resolve a wide range of daily technical issues; eagerness to investigate and learn new technologies Scripting knowledge via PowerShell / Linux / Unix Strong ability and emphasis on automation where applicable; provisioning and patching of endpoints Extremely well-developed organizational, time management, and analytical skills Dependable and reliable with strong improvement focus A thoughtful team player who can work independently Strong attention to detail, documentation, communication skills and follow-through Ability to work off-hours as needed for IT projects Ability to keep up to date with the latest tech innovations Ability to work effectively under pressure Capable of training Help Desk staff on new technologies implemented Working knowledge in Microsoft Azure a plus Quality Requirements

Supervisory Responsibility
The individual in this role is expected to work independently and reports to the Manager, IT Operations. While not a direct manager, the Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for support functions and will be expected to mentor and coach junior team members.
Working Environment
Onsite Employees:
Employee will work with moderate noise level. Employee will perform tasks while experiencing numerous interruptions. Employee may travel by car and airplane to work at different locations and may occasionally be required to travel overnight. The work environment is fast paced. This position has the utmost responsibility for compliance with the rules and regulations regarding a safe and healthy work environment relative to their actions and conduct. Off-shift, weekend and overtime duties may be required. While performing the job duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use English written and oral communication skills.
