*Job Title: Manual QA Tester (Microsoft Environment)*
6–12-month Contract hybrid position in Orange County, CA

*Job Summary*
We are seeking a detail-oriented Sr. Quality Assurance Manual Engineer to ensure the quality and reliability of applications built within a Microsoft technology stack. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, executing, and maintaining test cases while collaborating closely with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions. It also strengthens organizational quality practices by mentoring team members, enhancing QA processes, and ensuring adherence to regulatory and compliance standards.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Develop, review, and execute manual test cases, test plans, and test scripts based on business and technical requirements by collaborating with business analysts and asking questions to identify ambiguities, gaps or inconsistencies early, ensuring specifications align with user expectations.
* Design and execute comprehensive test cases covering functional, regression, integration, and system testing on applications built using Microsoft technologies
* Track and manage defects using project management tools, actively participating in triage discussions to determine severity, priority and resolution paths.
* Coordinate closely with vendor teams and internal stakeholders, participate in project meetings, and support the project QA Lead in executing testing activities to ensure project commitments are met.
* Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying process gaps, recommending enhancements and refining QA standards to ensure quality is embedded throughout the SDLC.
* Provide guidance, training and mentorship to new team members and junior QA engineers. Create training videos, manuals and wiki pages.
* Create comprehensive status reports for large testing initiatives, outlining current test execution status, key defects, and any action items that project participants need to address.
* Ensure compliance with organizational, regulatory, and security standards throughout all testing activities.
* Support User Acceptance Testing by assisting UAT testers, clarifying expected behaviors, and validating fixes or enhancements.
* Conduct root cause analysis for issues identified in production or UAT, collaborating with cross functional teams to prevent recurrence.
* Identify, document, and track defects using tools such as Azure DevOps or other defect management systems
* Validate data integrity using Microsoft SQL Server by writing and executing basic to intermediate SQL queries
*Required Stills*
* 8+ years of experience and an expert background in performing functional, regression, integration and end to end testing.
* Solid experience creating and maintaining test cases in a structured test case environment and using test case management tools that provide centralized storage, version control, executing tracking and traceability.
* Proficiency using black box test design techniques such as equivalence partitioning, boundary value analysis, decision table testing and state transition testing.
* Strong experience with Agile Scrum practices, including sprint planning, grooming, retrospectives, spring closing, etc.
* Experience performing API testing using tools such as Postman or equivalent solutions.
* Proficiency in writing SQL queries for data validation, test setup, and troubleshooting, including joining and aggregating data from multiple tables.
* Ability to analyze logs, systems outputs, and integration points to identify root causes of defects.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
* Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
*Preferred Qualifications*
* Understanding of and prior experience with combinatorial test case generation techniques and tools.
* Hands on experience with Test Rail or comparable test case management platforms.
* Familiarity with Azure DevOps or Team Foundation Server for work item tracking, test planning, and release coordination.
* Background in modernizing legacy systems, including migration to modern architectures or platforms.
* Prior exposure to EDI workflows and Salesforce environments.
*Education*
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour
