Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and test embedded software and firmware for manufacturing equipment and automation systems. Integrate embedded systems with industrial sensors, actuators, PLCs, and robotic systems on the production line. Develop and implement real-time control algorithms for precision manufacturing processes. Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of embedded systems failures in a production environment. Optimize existing embedded systems for performance, reliability, and efficiency in high-volume production. Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and production teams to define system requirements and ensure seamless integration. Develop robust communication protocols for machine-to-machine (M2M) and IoT connectivity within the factory floor. Recommended Qualifications
Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded software development. Extensive experience with microcontroller/microprocessor architectures (e.g., ARM Cortex-M) and their peripherals. Demonstrated expertise in Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) such as FreeRTOS, VxWorks, or similar. Proficiency in hardware debugging using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and in-circuit debuggers. Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Modbus, Ethernet/IP) and sensor integration. Experience with the full product lifecycle, from design and prototyping to manufacturing support and testing. Bonus Qualifications
Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, EtherCAT, OPC UA). Experience integrating with industrial control systems (e.g., PLCs, SCADA). Knowledge of cybersecurity principles for operational technology (OT) environments. Experience with Industrial IoT (IIoT) platforms and cloud connectivity for device data. Understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Reliability (DFR) principles.
