Über
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Database Administrator with over 10 years of hands-on expertise in managing and optimizing enterprise-grade database systems. The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in Redis.Oracle Database Administration, and MongoDB, and will be responsible for ensuring database reliability, performance, scalability, and security across multiple environments.
Key Responsibilities
Database Administration & Management • Administer, configure, and maintain Oracle databases ( RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, OEM , Patching & Upgrades). • Manage MongoD clusters, replica sets, sharding, performance tuning, and schema design. • Administer Redis (standalone, clustered, Sentinel architecture), including configuration, persistence management, and performance optimization. • Monitor database performance using industry-standard tools and implement tuning strategies. • Manage backup & recovery strategies across
Oracle, MongoDB, and Redis . • Design and implement scalable database architectures for high-transaction and mission-critical applications. • Define and enforce database standards, naming conventions, and best practices across environments. • Collaborate with application architects to design optimal data models and caching layers using Redis and MongoDB • Oversee end-to-end database lifecycle-from initial design to decommissioning • Perform capacity planning, forecasting storage, compute, and throughput requirements. • Ensure smooth execution of database migrations, upgrades, and version patching.
Performance, Optimization & Scalability • Analyze slow queries, optimize indexes, and tune application-database interactions. • Develop and implement caching strategies using Redis to improve application performance. • Improve database availability and redundancy using high-availability configurations.
Incident & Problem Management • Troubleshoot complex database issues and provide on-call support for production systems. • Perform root-cause analysis and deliver long-term preventive solutions.
Required Qualifications • 10+ years of experience as a Database Administrator. • Strong expertise in
Oracle Database Administration (11g/12c/19c).
Experience with
MongoD
administration, scaling, and performance tuning. • Experience setting up and managing Redis environments. • Strong understanding of distributed systems, replication, high availability, and disaster recovery. • Proficiency with Linux/UNIX environments. • Experience with automation/scripting
(Shell, Python, or similar).
Preferred Skills • Experience with
Oracle Exadata, Goldengate, or cloud-native database services . • Exposure to operators for MongoDB/Redis. • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. • Excellent communication and documentation abilities. • Ability to lead projects and mentor junior DBAs. • Strong ownership, accountability, and ability to perform under pressure.
