Your Day to Day as a Data Scientist:
Integrate manufacturing expertise with data science to support nuclear product research and development.
Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes, intellectual curiosity, and a continuous learning mindset to advance machine learning and data science capabilities.
Support the development of data structure and integrity standards to enable machine learning objectives.
Learn and apply a variety of statistical methods to perform root cause analysis.
Partner with engineers across product lines to identify, analyze, and solve manufacturing and inspection challenges.
Engage regularly with customers to ensure expectations are understood and met.
Additional responsibilities may include:
Developing machine learning and deep learning systems to support predictive quality initiatives.
Using visualization tools and products, including analytics, 3D simulation, and data modeling.
Creating sensor platforms and image-processing solutions for development and production processes.
Identifying and proposing new data science opportunities for customer-funded work.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline with a focus in data science, machine learning, and/or artificial intelligence
A minimum of 10 years of experience is required, however, an advanced degree may substitute for some years of experience
Experience in statistical analysis, signal processing and/or computer vision is strongly desired
Must demonstrate teamwork, problem solving, and communication skills
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong coding skills in Python, R, and C++ are preferred
Experience in simulation, design tools, Open CV, TensorFlow, and process monitoring is preferred
