Due to our continued growth and success, we are excited to expand our team! We are currently seeking an experienced *Project Estimator *qualified in electrical systems to join our Electrical team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial electrical construction projects. The Project Estimator will collaborate closely with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to support seamless project execution.
*Primary Responsibilities:*
* Develop an understanding of all project specifications and drawings, including electrical and all other trade disciplines (General trades, HVAC, and Plumbing).
* Assure that all ambiguities and inconsistencies are addressed and answered by the architect or engineer in a timely manner and prior to the deadline.
* Verify existing site conditions.
* Solicit materials quotations from Zenith vendors and subcontractors, including generation of work scope if needed. Prepare scopes of work and marked up drawings if subcontractors are required on a project, i.e. excavation, pole bases, rigging and hoisting, concrete equipment pads, etc.
* Perform takeoff and measuring utilizing Bluebeam or Livecount.
* Estimate new projects utilizing Accubid software.
* Review of vendors’ and subcontractors’ bills of materials/ work scopes to assure that quotations are complete.
* Review of the estimate to check for errors and omissions.
* Review and understanding of other trades shop drawings and details, such as millwork, casework, furniture, ceiling systems, mechanical equipment, power-operated doors, etc. to make sure the electrical equipment specified will work and coordinate with the other trades materials.
* Generate contractor or user specific proposal letter using Zenith Systems standard proposal template, including exclusions and clarifications.
* Log bid data into Zenith Bid Tracker app.
* Follow up on a regular basis with recipients of Zenith Systems proposals.
* Client relationship building and business development.
* Other duties as assigned.
*Required Qualifications:*
* Proven experience as an Electrical Construction Project Estimator.
* Commercial Construction experience.
* Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, materials, codes, regulations, and installation methods.
* Proficiency with estimating, management, and scheduling software: Procore, Bluebeam, Accubid, Conest as well as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications
* Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
* Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
* Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to communicate with a wide spectrum of individuals.
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
*Education and Experience:*
* High school diploma or equivalent required; College degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
* Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Project Estimating in electrical construction.
* Active industry specific certification.
