Join our thriving warehouse team as a Shipping & Receiving Associate in Atlanta, Georgia. This role is fundamental to our logistics operations, managing the inbound and outbound flow of goods. You will be responsible for accurately receiving incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, and preparing outgoing orders for timely dispatch. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming freight, verifying packing slips against purchase orders for accuracy and damages.
- Unload trucks using appropriate equipment, ensuring safe handling of all materials.
- Accurate data entry of received goods into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling orders according to specifications.
- Stage outgoing shipments in designated areas for carrier pickup, ensuring correct routing.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through diligent receiving and shipping processes, including cycle counts.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety vests and steel-toed boots.
- Operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment safely.
- Assist with general warehouse organization and cleanliness, contributing to a safe and efficient logistics environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by warehouse management.
Prior experience in shipping, receiving, or a similar warehouse role is preferred. Must be capable of frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs. A strong understanding of logistics principles and a dedication to maintaining a safe work environment are crucial. Basic computer skills for WMS data entry are necessary. The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a demanding logistics setting is required. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
