We are looking for a meticulous and organized Shipping Clerk to join our busy logistics hub in Phoenix, Arizona. As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurate, timely, and properly documented. You will be responsible for preparing shipping labels, verifying order contents against shipping documents, and coordinating with carriers. This role is vital to maintaining the smooth flow of goods from our facility to our customers. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a strong understanding of shipping procedures and logistics. You will work closely with warehouse associates and management to ensure all shipping operations meet our high standards for quality and efficiency. Safety is paramount in our operations, and you will be expected to uphold all safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and affix shipping labels on packages and pallets.
- Verify the accuracy of outgoing shipments against packing lists and orders.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation.
- Communicate with internal departments and external carriers to resolve shipping issues.
- Ensure all packages are prepared according to carrier requirements.
- Monitor shipping costs and identify potential areas for savings.
- Adhere to all company policies and safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist in maintaining an organized and clean shipping area.
- Provide support to the warehouse team as needed, contributing to overall logistics success.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar administrative role within logistics.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and basic computer applications.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of shipping procedures and documentation requirements.
- Commitment to workplace safety and proper lifting techniques.
