Join our logistics team in San Antonio, Texas, as a Shipping Clerk! You will be instrumental in ensuring the accurate and timely dispatch of outgoing shipments. Your responsibilities will include preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, verifying package contents, and ensuring all shipments meet regulatory requirements. This role is vital to our supply chain operations, requiring meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational abilities. We are dedicated to providing a safe working environment, and all employees are expected to strictly adhere to safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare shipping labels, bills of lading, and other required documentation.
- Verify package contents against shipping orders to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Operate shipping software and warehouse management systems.
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant parties.
- Ensure all packages are properly sealed, labeled, and prepared for transit.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, including the use of PPE, and participate in safety training.
- Conduct basic quality checks on outgoing goods.
- Communicate with other departments to resolve shipping-related issues.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or administrative roles is preferred.
- Proficiency with computer systems, including Microsoft Office and shipping software.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with common shipping carriers and regulations.
- Ability to perform light lifting, up to 25 lbs, as needed.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following safety guidelines.
