We are actively seeking a skilled Reach Truck Operator to join our advanced logistics facility in Baltimore, Maryland. This role is critical for the efficient movement and storage of goods within our high-density racking systems. As a Reach Truck Operator, you will expertly maneuver specialized equipment to place and retrieve products at elevated heights, ensuring inventory accuracy and optimal space utilization. Your responsibilities will include operating the reach truck safely and precisely, following established procedures for material handling, and conducting regular safety checks on the equipment. Maintaining a secure and orderly work environment is paramount, and strict adherence to all safety regulations, including the consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is required. The ideal candidate possesses a strong safety record, excellent driving skills with the reach truck, and a deep understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management. This position demands focus, precision, and a commitment to maintaining operational excellence within our logistics chain.
Responsibilities:
- Operate a reach truck to move, stack, and retrieve inventory from high racking systems.
- Safely load and unload materials from trailers and dock areas.
- Ensure accurate placement and organization of inventory within the warehouse.
- Perform daily pre-operation checks and basic maintenance on the reach truck.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and WMS guidelines.
- Wear and maintain appropriate PPE, such as safety shoes, gloves, and vests.
- Report any operational issues or safety concerns immediately to management.
- Participate in inventory counts and stocktaking activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and productivity of the warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience operating a reach truck.
- Certification for reach truck operation is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety protocols and best practices.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Physical capability to perform occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial reasoning.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a logistics environment.
- Good communication skills.
