Seeking a meticulous Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Indianapolis, Indiana. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be responsible for accurately preparing and processing outgoing shipments, ensuring all orders are correctly documented and dispatched. This role involves interacting with shipping carriers, managing shipping labels, and maintaining shipping records. A sharp eye for detail and organizational skills are essential for success. You will contribute directly to the efficiency of our distribution process. This position requires adherence to strict Safety protocols and the proper use of PPE to ensure a secure and productive work environment. Understanding of shipping regulations and carrier requirements is a significant advantage. We value accuracy and speed in processing shipments. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Verify shipping information and product details against customer orders.
- Label packages accurately and according to carrier guidelines.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for pick-ups and deliveries.
- Maintain organized shipping records and files.
- Communicate with internal teams to resolve shipping discrepancies or issues.
- Ensure the shipping area is clean, organized, and compliant with Safety standards.
- Properly use required PPE.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a shipping clerk or in a related administrative or warehouse role.
- Proficiency in using computers and basic office software.
- Familiarity with shipping software and carrier portals is a plus.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Commitment to Safety and proper PPE usage.
