We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our busy warehouse in Chicago, Illinois. This position is essential for the efficient movement of goods throughout our facility. The ideal candidate will possess excellent operating skills, a strong commitment to Safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment. Your role will ensure that materials are transported quickly and securely.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, stack, load, and unload materials.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on forklift equipment to ensure operational readiness and Safety.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and other items from receiving and production areas to storage and shipping areas.
- Safely load and unload trailers and containers.
- Assist with inventory management, including put-away, picking, and stock rotation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all warehouse Safety standards.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Identify and report any hazards or maintenance issues promptly.
- Work collaboratively with warehouse staff and supervisors to ensure efficient operations and meet production goals.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and productivity of the logistics team.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification and a minimum of 1-2 years of experience.
- Proven ability to operate various types of forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Experience with manual Lifting up to 50 lbs may be required for certain tasks.
- Strong understanding of warehouse Safety regulations and procedures.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced logistics environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
