We are seeking a skilled Reach Truck Operator for our distribution center in Omaha, Nebraska. As a Reach Truck Operator, you will be responsible for efficiently and safely moving and storing inventory within our high-rack warehouse. This role is critical to our logistics operations, ensuring optimal use of space and timely retrieval of goods. You will operate a reach truck to transport pallets, load and unload trailers, and manage stock levels. A strong focus on safety, operational efficiency, and equipment maintenance is essential. Responsibilities:
- Operate a reach truck to move, stack, and retrieve palletized goods in high-rack storage areas.
- Load and unload trailers efficiently and safely.
- Conduct daily inspections of the reach truck and report any maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by properly locating and staging items.
- Ensure the safe operation of the reach truck, adhering to all safety guidelines and warehouse protocols.
- Assist with order picking and other warehouse duties as needed.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of obstructions.
- Follow all lifting and handling procedures to prevent damage to goods and ensure safety.
- Ensure appropriate PPE is used at all times.
- Meet productivity targets while maintaining a high standard of safety and accuracy.
Requirements:
- Valid certification and proven experience operating a reach truck.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, and bending.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques and equipment operation.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
