We are seeking an efficient Order Picker to join our busy warehouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. As an Order Picker, you will play a crucial role in accurately fulfilling customer orders by retrieving specified items from warehouse shelves. This fast-paced role requires speed, accuracy, and a strong attention to detail. You will utilize order lists and potentially scanning equipment to locate and collect products, ensuring they are prepared for the packing and shipping stages. Safety is a top priority, and all team members are expected to follow strict guidelines for equipment operation, Safe Lifting practices, and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). If you are energetic, detail-oriented, and enjoy a physically active role within a dynamic logistics environment, this is an excellent opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse locations based on order specifications.
- Use of handheld scanners and other technology to track picks.
- Verify picked items against order sheets for accuracy.
- Transport picked items to the packing and staging areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including proper Lifting techniques.
- Wear appropriate PPE as required.
- Assist with inventory checks and stock replenishment as needed.
- Meet daily picking quotas and productivity targets.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the order fulfillment process within our logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as an order picker or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
- Must be able to perform frequent Lifting of items up to 40 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Willingness to follow Safety instructions and wear required PPE.
- Understanding of warehouse layouts and logistics flow is beneficial.
