Our Philadelphia, Pennsylvania facility is looking for a reliable Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy, and preparing goods for distribution. Your duties will include unloading trucks, verifying incoming orders against documentation, inspecting for damages, and stocking items appropriately within the warehouse. A strong focus on accuracy, efficiency, and safety is critical. This position is fundamental to maintaining our inventory integrity and operational flow.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify incoming goods against purchase orders and packing slips for accuracy and completeness.
- Inspect all received items for damage or defects.
- Accurately record received inventory into the warehouse management system.
- Stock received materials in designated warehouse locations, ensuring proper organization.
- Communicate any discrepancies or issues with incoming shipments to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Properly utilize required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Support the broader logistics and warehouse operations as needed.
- Be prepared for tasks that involve manual handling and lifting, typically up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Receiving Clerk or in a similar warehouse/logistics role.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and shipping/receiving procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in verifying shipments.
- Understanding of warehouse safety practices and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a busy environment.
- Physical capability to perform tasks involving lifting and manual labor.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
