We are seeking a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist for our busy Boston, Massachusetts facility. This role is central to the success of our Logistics operations, focusing on maintaining precise inventory counts and ensuring the efficient flow of goods. You will perform detailed cycle counts, investigate and reconcile any stock discrepancies, and work proactively to minimize losses and errors. Your responsibilities will include managing stock locations, optimizing inventory placement, and contributing to the overall efficiency and accuracy of our warehouse. Maintaining a safe and orderly environment is paramount, and you will be expected to adhere to all Safety guidelines. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, exceptional organizational skills, and a dedication to data integrity. The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be mandatory in specific areas or when handling certain materials. While this role is primarily data-driven, some occasional Lifting may be required to verify stock or assist with stocktaking. Responsibilities:
- Execute comprehensive cycle counting procedures.
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies and investigate root causes.
- Monitor inventory levels, identify low stock situations, and communicate needs.
- Optimize warehouse slotting and stock rotation.
- Contribute to the reduction of inventory shrinkage.
- Ensure adherence to all warehouse Safety policies and procedures.
- Generate regular inventory status reports and present findings.
- Utilize and maintain assigned PPE correctly.
- Support receiving and shipping departments with inventory verification.
- Identify and manage non-conforming or damaged inventory.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in inventory control, preferably in a warehouse setting.
- Proficiency with WMS and inventory management software.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Solid understanding of Logistics principles and warehouse operations.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and ability to follow instructions.
- Experience with or willingness to use PPE.
- Capability for occasional light Lifting (up to 25 lbs).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
