Our Detroit, Michigan warehouse is seeking diligent Order Pickers to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be essential in accurately selecting products for customer orders and preparing them for shipment. You'll utilize scanning devices and pick lists to navigate the warehouse and gather the correct items, ensuring high levels of accuracy and efficiency. This position requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work at a steady pace in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse locations based on customer orders and pick lists.
- Use handheld scanners to track picked items and ensure order accuracy.
- Verify product codes and quantities to prevent errors in fulfillment.
- Prepare picked items for packaging and subsequent shipping logistics.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Meet established productivity and quality standards for order picking.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, such as restocking or inventory counts.
- Report any inventory discrepancies or safety concerns to a supervisor immediately.
- Work cooperatively with colleagues to ensure smooth workflow and timely order processing.
- Perform occasional moderate Lifting as required to retrieve items from various locations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous warehouse or order picking experience is preferred.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Capability of Lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual attendance.
- Familiarity with basic logistics principles is a plus.
