Our San Diego, California facility is looking for a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist to manage and maintain the accuracy of our warehouse stock. This role is essential for optimizing inventory levels, preventing stockouts, and minimizing discrepancies. The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for implementing and overseeing inventory management procedures, conducting regular cycle counts, and reconciling inventory records with physical stock. You will analyze inventory data to identify trends, suggest improvements, and contribute to overall warehouse efficiency. This is a key position that requires a sharp analytical mind and a strong understanding of logistics and supply chain principles. You will work closely with warehouse staff and management to ensure that all inventory-related processes are carried out effectively and efficiently. Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures.
- Monitor stock levels and identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and provide reports to management.
- Optimize warehouse layout and storage methods for efficient inventory management.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of all inventory items.
- Collaborate with receiving, shipping, and other departments to ensure seamless inventory flow.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and proper use of PPE.
- Support L&D initiatives for inventory-related processes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
- Proficiency with WMS software and inventory management techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to interpret and analyze data.
- Capable of Lifting up to 40 pounds occasionally.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain operations.
- Knowledge of safety best practices and the importance of PPE.
