Our fast-paced logistics and distribution center in Sacramento, California, is seeking a diligent Picker/Packer to join our team. This role is essential for ensuring that customer orders are accurately and efficiently processed and prepared for shipment. You will be responsible for retrieving items from warehouse shelves according to customer orders and carefully packaging them for transit. A strong focus on accuracy, speed, and attention to detail is crucial in this dynamic environment. Your tasks will include using pick lists or electronic scanners to locate and verify products, ensuring the correct items and quantities are selected. Following the picking process, you will prepare items for shipment, which may involve boxing, labeling, and adding protective materials. The ideal candidate is organized, a team player, and committed to providing high-quality service. This position requires physical stamina, as it involves standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift. Safety is paramount, and adherence to all company safety policies, including proper lifting techniques and the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is required. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick specified items from warehouse inventory based on customer orders.
- Verify product identification, quantity, and condition against order requirements.
- Package picked items securely and efficiently for shipping, using appropriate boxes, padding, and tape.
- Apply shipping labels and any required documentation to packages.
- Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, contributing to overall warehouse efficiency.
- Strictly adhere to all company safety regulations, including safe lifting practices and the use of required PPE.
- Collaborate with colleagues to meet daily picking and packing quotas.
- Participate in regular safety training and promote a safety-first mindset.
- Report any inventory inaccuracies, product damages, or safety hazards to supervision immediately.
Previous experience in picking, packing, or a warehouse environment is preferred.
Ability to read and interpret order forms and shipping labels accurately.
Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the work shift.
Capacity for lifting up to 50 pounds.
Understanding of warehouse logistics and order fulfillment processes.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Familiarity with safety standards, including PPE requirements, is essential.
Teamwork and good communication skills are beneficial.
