Our rapidly expanding logistics facility in Omaha, Nebraska, is seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our team. This critical role ensures the efficient and safe movement of materials throughout our warehouse. You will be responsible for operating forklifts to load and unload trucks, transport inventory, and assist with stock placement and retrieval. A strong commitment to safety is paramount, as you will be expected to perform daily equipment checks and adhere strictly to all company safety policies, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe operating practices. The ideal candidate possesses excellent maneuvering skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You must have a valid forklift certification and a demonstrated history of safe operation. Beyond forklift duties, you may also be asked to assist with general warehouse tasks, inventory counts, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. This position is key to maintaining the integrity of our inventory and ensuring the smooth flow of goods within our logistics network. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach) to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Transport goods between different areas of the warehouse as directed.
- Perform daily pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any defects or issues immediately.
- Maintain accurate records of material movements and inventory locations.
- Adhere to all warehouse safety rules and procedures, including traffic management, proper lifting techniques, and mandatory PPE usage.
- Participate actively in all safety training sessions and safety committee meetings.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure efficient workflow and meet operational goals.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and other warehouse tasks as needed.
Valid forklift operator certification.
Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics setting.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Thorough understanding of warehouse safety protocols and best practices.
Proficiency in performing equipment checks and basic maintenance.
Strong spatial awareness and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills.
Must be reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
Commitment to utilizing PPE at all times.
