We are looking for a skilled Reach Truck Operator to join our busy distribution center in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a reach truck to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Your primary focus will be on safely and efficiently managing inventory within our warehouse, ensuring that materials are stored correctly and readily accessible. This position requires a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment. Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate a reach truck to move palletized goods.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper placement and securing of loads.
- Store materials in designated racking systems and locations.
- Retrieve and transport items for order fulfillment and replenishment.
- Conduct pre-operation checks on equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by scanning items and updating the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Adhere to all warehouse safety rules and regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned, such as order picking or general labor.
- Participate in regular inventory counts and audits.
- Ensure all Lifting is performed within safe operational limits.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating a reach truck, with valid certification if required by company policy.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols and procedures.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a demanding logistics environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to following all Safety guidelines and company policies.
- Demonstrated ability to perform required Lifting tasks.
