We are seeking a reliable and experienced Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our logistics team in St. Louis, Missouri. This pivotal role is responsible for the smooth and accurate handling of all inbound and outbound shipments. You will be tasked with unloading trucks, verifying incoming inventory against purchase orders, accurately documenting received goods, picking and packing customer orders, and preparing shipments for dispatch. Ensuring the integrity of our inventory and the timely delivery of products are paramount. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving within a dynamic logistics environment. Safety is our top priority; therefore, comprehensive training on our safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE and safe lifting techniques, will be provided. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload all inbound shipments safely and efficiently.
- Verify the accuracy of incoming goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect all shipments for damages and report any discrepancies.
- Accurately record inventory into the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Pick and pack orders according to specifications, ensuring accuracy and care.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including labeling and necessary documentation.
- Load outbound shipments onto trucks for delivery.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at the shipping and receiving docks.
- Participate in inventory cycle counts and other stocktaking activities.
- Strictly adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Perform safe lifting and material handling tasks as required.
- Contribute positively to the overall logistics operations and team objectives.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or general warehouse operations is strongly preferred.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks, forklifts (certification provided if needed), and other warehouse equipment.
- Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Proficiency with computer systems, including WMS and data entry.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 75 lbs.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Commitment to workplace safety, including proper PPE usage and safe lifting methods.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
