We're expanding our team in Chicago, Illinois, and looking for a diligent Shipping & Receiving Associate to manage the critical functions of inbound and outbound logistics. This role is the backbone of our distribution center, ensuring that goods are received accurately and shipped out efficiently and correctly. You will be responsible for unloading delivery trucks, verifying shipment contents against documentation, processing incoming goods into our system, picking and packing orders, and preparing shipments for dispatch. You'll also be involved in maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the shipping and receiving docks. A strong understanding of logistics, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to safety are key. We provide thorough training on all aspects of the job, including the proper use of PPE and safe lifting techniques for handling diverse products. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments; verify contents against purchase orders.
- Inspect goods for damage and report any discrepancies.
- Accurately input received inventory data into the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Pick products accurately based on customer orders.
- Pack orders securely and efficiently for shipment.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including labeling and documentation.
- Load outgoing shipments onto delivery vehicles.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping and receiving area.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and assist with stocktaking.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including mandatory PPE use.
- Perform safe lifting and material handling as required by the job.
- Support the overall logistics and supply chain operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment (training provided if needed).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in computer systems, particularly WMS software.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with warehouse work.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Commitment to adhering to safety regulations, including PPE and safe lifting practices.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
