We are seeking a skilled and dependable Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team in Omaha, Nebraska. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating a forklift safely and efficiently to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Your primary focus will be on supporting the overall logistics and operational flow of the warehouse, ensuring materials are moved accurately and on time. This role is crucial for maintaining inventory integrity and facilitating smooth operations.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, electric) to move pallets, raw materials, and finished goods.
- Load and unload trucks and containers, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing of loads.
- Perform daily inspections of forklift equipment to ensure safe operating condition and report any defects.
- Accurately pick and stage orders for shipment, verifying product codes and quantities.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring aisles and dock doors are clear.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure efficient workflow and meet production goals.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the logistics operations.
Candidates must have a valid forklift certification or a minimum of 1 year of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment. Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting up to 50 lbs. A strong commitment to safety and proficiency in using required PPE is essential. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics setting are also required. Must be able to work flexible hours and shifts as needed. A background check and drug screening will be conducted.
