We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Order Picker to join our dynamic logistics team in Salt Lake City, Utah. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately retrieving items from warehouse shelves according to customer orders. Your attention to detail and speed are crucial for ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment, which directly impacts customer satisfaction. This position plays a vital part in the overall success of our distribution operations. You will work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing scanning equipment and following established procedures to pick a variety of products. Ensuring the correct items are picked and prepared for the next stage of the shipping process is paramount. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse shelves using a handheld scanner.
- Verify picked items against order sheets to ensure accuracy.
- Package items securely for shipment, if required by the role.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Operate pallet jacks or other material handling equipment as needed.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Participate in regular inventory counts and checks.
- Communicate any stock discrepancies or issues to supervisors promptly.
- Meet or exceed picking performance metrics.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or order picking role is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret pick lists and order forms.
- Proficiency with scanning technology.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, up to 50 lbs, on a regular basis.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all guidelines.
- Familiarity with basic warehouse operations and logistics.
