We are seeking a skilled Material Handler to manage the flow of goods within our Los Angeles, California warehouse. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient operations, ensuring materials are moved, organized, and staged correctly. As a Material Handler, you will operate various types of warehouse equipment and play a key role in our logistics supply chain. Your diligence and expertise will directly impact our productivity and accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring accurate placement of goods.
- Move materials from receiving areas to storage or production areas.
- Organize and maintain warehouse inventory, ensuring proper storage and accessibility.
- Prepare materials for shipment, including staging and wrapping.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any issues.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Assist with inventory control activities, such as cycle counts.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to logistics and safety.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift certification is highly preferred.
- Ability to operate various types of warehouse equipment safely.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Good spatial awareness and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Candidates must be comfortable standing, walking, and operating machinery for extended periods. Proper lifting techniques and body mechanics are essential, and training will be provided.
Safety and PPE:
Safety is paramount in our operations. All Material Handlers must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety vests, gloves, and steel-toed boots. Comprehensive training on safe material handling practices, equipment operation, and hazard awareness is mandatory. Your commitment to safety protocols is critical for maintaining a secure work environment within our logistics facility.
