We are seeking a dedicated and organized Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Des Moines, Iowa. The Receiving Clerk will be responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and documenting all incoming shipments. This role is crucial to maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring that materials are processed efficiently for onward movement within the warehouse. You will be the first point of contact for deliveries, verifying quantities against purchase orders and shipping manifests. Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with basic computer systems for data entry and possess strong communication skills. Adherence to all safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE , is paramount in this position. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming materials and products.
- Inspect shipments for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Verify quantities received against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Document all receiving activities accurately in the inventory management system.
- Tag and route incoming goods to appropriate departments or storage locations.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, adhering to Safety standards.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely (if applicable and certified).
- Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal departments.
- Assist with inventory counts and audits as needed.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, particularly those related to workplace Safety and the use of PPE .
- Support other warehouse operations as directed.
