Our Washington, D.C. operations are seeking a reliable Material Handler to support our warehouse activities. This role is critical for the efficient movement and organization of materials within our facility. Responsibilities include operating forklifts, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring materials are stored correctly. The successful candidate will be safety-conscious, possess good physical stamina, and have a solid understanding of warehouse logistics. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas using forklifts and other equipment.
- Stack, palletize, and package materials according to established procedures.
- Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and other material handling equipment safely and proficiently.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper working condition.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving, stocking, and cycle counting.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and use required PPE diligently.
- Follow all logistics guidelines and work instructions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- Demonstrated ability to perform manual labor, including significant lifting (up to 75 lbs).
- Experience in a warehouse or distribution center setting is required.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Familiarity with logistics operations and material flow.
- Strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
