Are you a skilled and safety-conscious individual? Our logistics company in Nashville, Tennessee, is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, load, unload, and stack materials throughout the warehouse. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the safe and efficient handling of goods, contributing to the overall productivity and accuracy of our operations. You must possess a valid forklift certification and a proven track record of safe operation. This position demands a keen awareness of your surroundings, adherence to traffic patterns within the warehouse, and meticulous attention to detail to prevent damage to goods and equipment. You will also be involved in basic warehouse duties, including assisting with inventory management and maintaining a clean work environment. We are committed to a zero-accident culture, and all employees are required to follow stringent safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe lifting practices when not operating the forklift. The ideal candidate is reliable, punctual, and works well under pressure. Excellent communication skills are necessary to coordinate with other team members and supervisors. - Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently to move materials.
- Load and unload trucks, containers, and pallets.
- Stack and store materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Transport materials to and from production, receiving, and shipping areas.
- Perform pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by properly staging and documenting material movements.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including warehouse traffic rules, proper lifting techniques, and the mandatory use of PPE.
- Participate actively in all required safety training and toolbox talks.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, ensuring clear pathways and organized storage.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely order fulfillment.
Valid forklift operator certification or license.
Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
Excellent knowledge of forklift safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Reliability and punctuality are essential.
